As for many people, price tends to be a very strong driver in purchase decisions for a lot of people. However remember the old saying 'You pay for what you get' and it tends to ring true with everything. With electronics though we are living in a age where the cost and manufacturing of such devices thanks mainly to cheap overseas labour etc ensures cost of devices are at rock bottom and because portable DVD players and DVD players in general have been made for years, the craft of making such a device is down to a tee.

The only things you need to be aware of, is that a more expensive portable DVD player will no doubt have better attributes, such as a larger screen, more output/input formats, better flexibility in playback.

If you are after a portable DVD player just for the occassional once a month use, then the cheapest may be the best option, however if will use the portable DVD player regularly, it may be best to save your money and get a bit more of an up market device.
